The 16x2 LCD Module Shield with I2C Interface is a compact and efficient alphanumeric display designed to simplify LCD interfacing in Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and microcontroller-based projects. Featuring 2 rows of 16 characters each and a bright yellow-green LED backlight, this module ensures crisp visibility even in low-light conditions.
Equipped with a pre-soldered I2C (IIC) adapter board, this shield significantly reduces the number of microcontroller pins required for connection—down from 16 to just 2 data lines (SDA & SCL), making it ideal for projects where GPIO pins are limited. The module is based on the popular HD44780 LCD controller and can be easily programmed using widely available libraries like LiquidCrystal_I2C.
