MT3608 2A Max DC-DC Step-Up Boost Converter Module
The MT3608 2A Max DC-DC Step-Up Power Module is a compact and adjustable DC-DC boost converter designed to increase a lower DC input voltage to a higher adjustable DC output voltage. It is an excellent power-management solution for Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, IoT, robotics, battery-powered devices, and DIY electronics projects.
The module uses the MT3608 boost converter IC and features an onboard potentiometer for adjusting the output voltage. Typical modules support an input range of approximately 2V–24V and an adjustable boosted output of up to around 28V, depending on the module design and operating conditions. The output voltage must be higher than the input voltage because this is a step-up/boost converter.
Its small PCB form factor makes it convenient for integrating voltage-boosting functionality into compact electronic projects.
Key Features
- MT3608 Boost Converter IC
- DC-DC Step-Up / Boost Converter
- Adjustable output voltage using onboard potentiometer
- Typical input voltage: 2V–24V DC
- Typical adjustable output: 5V–28V DC
- Up to 2A maximum output current under suitable operating conditions
- High-efficiency switching regulator design
- Compact PCB module
- Suitable for battery-powered applications
- Useful for Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266 and IoT projects
- Easy screw-terminal/pin-header connection depending on module variant
Important: The commonly advertised "2A" rating is a maximum/peak rating, not necessarily a continuous 2A output under every input/output combination. Actual current capability depends on input voltage, output voltage, thermal conditions, PCB version and cooling.

Example Applications
Boost 3.7V battery to 5V:
A single Li-ion/Li-Po battery can be used as the input, with the module adjusted to provide a suitable 5V output for compatible electronics.
Boost 5V to a higher voltage:
The module can increase a 5V DC source to a higher adjustable voltage within the module's operating range.
How to Use
- Connect the DC input to IN+ and IN−.
- Connect a multimeter to OUT+ and OUT−.
- Power the module.
- Carefully adjust the onboard potentiometer to obtain the required output voltage.
- Connect your load after confirming the output voltage.
Important: Always measure and set the output voltage before connecting sensitive electronics.
The output voltage of a boost converter must be higher than its input voltage; it cannot be used to step a voltage down.
